Location: Overgate Hospice
The Capital Appeals team will be fundraising for a new project for Overgate Hospice, a purpose built new Inpatient Unit and new Day Hospice. The Inpatient Unit will be a new, larger unit with 16 single rooms, each with en-suite facilities and a private terrace. To provide these vital facilities for the community, we need to raise £10.5m, 80% of which will be through applications to grant funders and major donors. As the Capital Appeal Fundraiser, you will be a key member of the Capital Appeal Team working with the building relationships with key supporters, making Trust and Foundation applications to support the Capital Appeal and working with the fundraising database Donorflex to record and plan activity.

Overgate Hospice’s Capital Appeal team will be fundraising for a brand new project; a brand new Inpatient Unit. This will be a new, larger unit with 16 single rooms, each with en-suite facilities. This will allow us to help more people in a brighter, lighter, purpose built unit as well as allowing Day Hospice to move to a bigger, newly refurbished space currently occupied by our ex-isting Inpatient Unit. To do this we need to raise £10.5m, 80% of which will be through applications to grant funders and major donors. As the capital appeal administrator/researcher you will be a key member of the Capital Appeal Team working with the fundrais-ing database Donor flex, supporting the team and researching high value prospects, including individuals, trusts, foundations and businesses to support the appeal.

Day Hospice will be relocated to a bigger, newly refurbished space currently occupied by our existing Inpatient Unit; a larger, more flexible space, which would enable us to see more people, host more clinics and activities, provide more rehabilitative care for people living with a terminal illness and additional support for their carers. To provide these vital facilities for the com-munity, we need to raise £10.5m, 80% of which will be through applications to grant funders and major donors.

We are looking for an ambitious individual to join our team for a one year period to cover maternity leave, playing a key role in leading and managing our fundraising team, ensuring strategy and income targets and other KPIs are met and high standards of fundraising practice followed. As Head of Community Relationships (Fundraising) you will have the opportunity to embed the strategy and area business plans and ensure they are successfully implemented and deliver net income growth across all our brands.
